About Me
Hi, my name is Lori and I started Glitz Jewelry selling jewelry and accessories in 1992. I started out taking my merchandise to the customer by packing up and driving to places of business and offices so they could shop during a lunch hour or after hours. As my business grew I had people coming to me to buy. Glitz Jewelry was growing.!
One night in 2006 I was cooking my kids one of their favorite meals, chicken and dumplings. As I opened up cans and went to throw the lids away I thought, "what a shame". My creative side started working and I came up with the idea of embellishing soup can lids. Ever since I came up with the idea of "glitzing" lids I have been embellishing many kinds of caps, thus the name CAPITS® came to be. My CAPITS® have since continued evolving into many different styles and designs.
Ever since I came up with the idea of making CAPITS® I decided to donate a portion of each sale to my local Food bank. I truly feel blessed to be able to feed my family, create a beautiful necklace, and help feed others in need.
Designing beautiful sparkling pieces from recycled caps has become a passion of mine! It has been so much fun for me over the years selling these necklaces. Most people are always shocked that such a beautiful necklace could be made out of something most people just simply toss in the trash. I love that my CAPITS® allow me to recycle while creating a beautiful jewelry piece! Go GREEN!
I have had the privilege of being able to meet and gift one of my CAPITS® necklaces to Beyonce Knowles, as well as Merdith Vieria and Ann Curry from The Today Show!
Each one of my CAPITS® is unique and a one of a kind piece. No two are exactly alike as I embellish them with different jewels, beads, and crystals. The pendants can be worn on a necklace, clothing, a scarf or you can clip them onto any metal!. The wrapits can be wrapped around a wrist to create a one of a kind bracelet or worn as an adorable necklace. My passion for making CAPITS® has evolved into also making earrings, rings and boot/shoe CAPITS®. Who knows what the future will bring! Add a sparkle and unique look to every outfit!
